Network Administrator, Cyber Security, System AdministrationThe Computer Science program includes three different tracts.
Computer Programming
The Computer Programming program prepares students for entry-level positions as computer programmers and web developers. The core curriculum covers the software development life-cycle, algorithms, fundamental data structures, database design, and the design, implementation, and testing of computer programs and dynamic websites.
Program Highlights: Design and implement software solutions. Design, implement, and test dynamic websites. Work in a variety of computer programming languages.
Computer Networking
The Computer Networking program prepares students for entry-level positions in Cisco Network Administration. This includes configuration and maintenance of network devices and services; design, configure, analyze, and maintain VLANS, Access control lists, DHCP, NAT, and security for small to medium-sized computer networks; and preparation for the globally recognized Cisco CCNA certification exam.
Program Highlights: Configure and maintain routers and switches. Maintain Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network(WAN) connectivity and services. Provides industry and CCNA certification preparation.
Computer Systems Administration
The Computer Systems Administration program prepares students for industry standard certification exams and entry-level positions, beginning as computer support technicians and rising to system administrators. The curriculum covers all aspects of enterprise computing, including computing device repair, and configuration, Microsoft Server administration, virtualization, networking, linux, SQL Server database administration, and many aspects of cyber-security.
Program Highlights: No previous knowledge required! Provides skills for a career in Information Technology. Prepare for A+, Net+, Linux, Security+, CCNA, and MSCA industry exams.
Drafting Technology
Drafter, Manufacturing, CAD operatorThe Drafting and CAD Technology program is designed to prepare students to meet the drafting requirements of industry. The diversity of the program allows students to pursue a career with a variety of companies that employ drafters. Students who complete this program will be able to prepare drawings for individuals and companies in the architectural, civil engineering, construction, and manufacturing technology fields.
Program Highlights: Extensive experience using CAD techniques. Experience reading construction drawing and interpreting specifications. Preparation for employment in a variety of fields.
Engineering
Civil EngineeringThe Civil Engineering program is design to prepare students to enter the world of Civil Engineering Technologists or Technicians. The program has sufficient breadth to include surveying, map drafting, and computer aided drafting (CAD). After completion of the two-year program, the student will be prepared to enter civil engineering technology at the entry level. Students who complete this program will be able to serve on a field survey crew, work in an engineering office, and prepare maps for recordation. In every constituency, there exists a need for trained engineering technicians and technologists.
Program Highlights: Training on both conventional drafting instruments and CAD. Preparation for entry-level engineering positions. Industry relevant tools and concepts.
Geographic Information Systems
Geographer, Urban Planner, Surveyor, CartographerGeographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial technology are among the fastest growing fields according to the US Department of Labor. A certificate in GIS provides the student with the proficiency necessary to apply spatial thinking to analyze social and physical sciences information, helping to build better and more sustainable connections between humans and the environment. Careers can be standalone and are also found in nearly every field of discipline.
Program Highlights: Prepare for ESRI Certification Examination. Wide Range of Industrial Applications. High Growth Industry, US Department of Labor.
